A wanted criminal going back to school

gildedchampion:

Sudena laughed at her question for its uniqueness and the expressions over her face when she tried thinking about it. Of course, the summoning and how to go about explaining it were hard to get when Sudena didn’t exactly know how to express what he knows. He put a hand up to his chin and looked down at the ground, his entire demeanor shifting over to being all business and then back to his leisurely self again. With a wave to beg Haruhi follow him, Sudena started walking towards the front of the school. He didn’t plan on going anywhere specific yet.

Since he’d already missed one class, why not one more or two? Problem was, if Haruhi minded or not being stuck with him for a day while school went on. Sudena pulled some keys out of his pocket and looked over his shoulder to check if she was there.

Haruhi sighed, disappointed that her questions hadn’t been answered or even so much as acknowledged. The brigade chief was not known for being a patient person. Despite that, she didn’t ask again, nor did she get incredibly angry. Chances were that the reason he just motioned for him to follow him was so that he could answer elsewhere… or something. For that reason, she followed after her upperclassman without complaint.

"So where exactly are we going?" Haruhi brushed her hair behind her shoulder and glanced at Sudena. He had looked back at her for god knows why and was holding keys. Why was he holding keys? Did he want to drive her somewhere? Did he even have a drivers’ license?

A wanted criminal going back to school

gildedchampion:

Avatar was a funny word to explain to someone, since it’s common knowledge what most avatars are…and Sudena knew that she couldn’t help but wrap her brain around the entire idea that supported his summoning techniques, either. He almost didn’t know where to start. But since this was something he did regularly, despite the trouble it caused him in the past, he was fine with it. Sudena hadn’t noticed, however, how he was standing alone with someone in the hallway way after the bell to get into class had rung. None of this was natural for him anymore, as soon as he’d realized it.

But back to the questions. “By avatar, I mean Susume. That’s his name. Or my name. Whatever you wanna call it. He’s something of a Persona, the role that I played when I was engrossed in virtual reality video games. Ah…it’s better to say that I found a way to turn data into living atoms and I can summon my avatar from a game into this world. Only works with him, though…I destroyed my research and the portable device can’t rip data…” Even though he knew that most of the words he just spouted wouldn’t make sense to any normal person, he was almost too engulfed by the sudden sadness that came with realizing what he’d done not even months ago.

Though Haruhi wasn’t necessarily bad with computers, she wasn’t all that good with them. She knew how to leisurely surf the web and revisit websites she liked, but that was about it. Her lack of computer knowledge (mixed with a bit of her own laziness) were why she had gotten her fellow club member, Kyon, to construct the SOS Brigade’s website a few months back. So when Sudena talked about his complicated technology, Haruhi found herself a bit lost. “So you made a fictional video game character real? And can summon it with”, Haruhi pointed to the band on his lower arm, “that thing?”

"Uh, wait." Haruhi recalled Sudena having said something about the avatar sharing his name or him sharing its… Did that mean they were the same person? When Susume was summoned, did a body materialize or did the avatar take Sudena’s? "How exactly does Susume appear? Like, does he have a body of his own, or does he use yours?"

Based on how things were going now, it didn’t seem like either of them was getting to class anytime soon…

He was a bit stunned. Now she wanted proof? Easton gave her a searching look; she hadn’t run away screaming yet, nor did she call the authorities, even the way she stared at him was different. It was like she was fascinated by some kind of scientific experiment. Hesitant but willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, he nodded in response.

"Yeah, just uh-

Carefully, he took her hand and guided her fingers to his opposite wrist, pressing them firm against the spot where his pulse should’ve been. His bloodshot eyes focused on her anxiously to see what she would do next.

Haruhi waited patiently for a response. She knew fully well that her request was a bit rude, though that didn’t bother her at all. How was she supposed to take him seriously if she didn’t believe him one hundred percent? This was the only way.

The brunette’s eyes followed his hand as he took hers. What the hell is he…?

The first thing Haruhi noticed when she felt his skin was that it was awfully cold. The second thing was his lack of a pulse.

"That’s," said Haruhi, now wide-eyed and grinning, "that’s amazing!" There was now no doubt in her mind that the man infront of her was dead.

new-generation-hakurei:

Rai blinked in surprise once Haruhi took a huge gulp of the hot tea. She had never seen anyone do that before…This girl must have been pretty excited. She gave a chuckle and dipped her head.

"I see. Well, it makes sense I suppose. I always thought it was a joke until recently, but the Yōkai by the name of Yukari Yakumo, who is technically my mother, tends to use trains to her advantage. I’ve seen her board a train via one of her gaps a couple times actually. So maybe you were fortunate, or unfortunate, enough to step onto one of Yukari’s favourite trains.”

image

"Of course if you ask me, it’s a little unorthodox to use trains. I mean with our family trait to go anywhere we want at any time we want, simply gapping onto a train seems almost redundant. Oh darn, my apologies, I’m just rambling again. I tend to do that often, ehehe."

Rai knocked her head with a fist and chuckled lightly. She took another sip of her own tea before continuing.

"If you’d like, I could just as easily return you to the outside world whenever you’re ready to go back. It’s not safe here for humans unfamiliar to the land. The truth is I’m only half Yōkai. My human mother was the previous shrine maiden here, and I learned most of my morals from her. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us, and I currently live here with my Yōkai mother along with my Shikigami as well. Both of them are out at the moment though. So um…Now that you know about me, mind telling me about yourself? What’s it like in the world you’re from?”

"Fortunate, I’d say." Though Haruhi didn’t know how safe this world was for a defenseless human like her, she couldn’t bring herself to be worry or upset.

One of the things Haruhi hated most in the world was boredom. Routine and uninteresting people also irked her quite a bit. Here, in this Yōkai infested place, those things didn’t seem to exist. How could she possibly be bored as she talked to someone like this in a place like this. It was great. She was very fortunate to be here.

No matter how fun life may be in the Yōkai world, Haruhi couldn’t stay too long. She had things to take care of in her world, such as the SOS Brigade.

"My world? Well, it’s actually pretty boring there. As a high school student, most of my time is spent at school where I listen to teachers’ long lectures and deal with annoying classmates. The best thing about the day is always meeting with my club, the SOS Brigade.

"Though we don’t do a lot each and every day, we do have city searches for interesting things and mysteries every once in a while. We also go on trips to remote islands and snowy mountains. It’s a lot of fun."

Sudena flicked his hair without wanting to give her any replies yet. There was fun to be had in staying silent. Instead of saying anything about it, he closed up his left fist and lifted up his hand to let the sleeve of the uniform fall back and reveal his white bangle. He pointed to it before he started talking.

"See, this isn’t any real magic but to me it kinda is. With this, I can summon my avatar, or weapons. Or both, if I like. I like to believe it’s magic." Sudena dropped his hand to conceal the little device again.

Haruhi looked at the mysterious bracelet for as long as it was visible as she listened to his explanation of it.

image

Avatar. Isn’t that a word usually associated with video games? Isn’t an avatar the character that you control? "And by avatar, you mean… what, exactly?”

There was also a mention of weapons. What kind of weapons can this thing summon? Guns? Knives? Swords? If Sudena could summon weapons easily with his device, he could probably get away with a lot of things… It suddenly made sense why the government was after him.

♥ — }  "You’re welcome!" Carly smiled, running three fingers through her hair as she brushed it away from her face. Damn hairs, always blocking her vision—perhaps she should invest in bows like this particular girl wore. Oh yes, definitely. "I like your hair pieces," she smiled. "They really suit your general appearance."

Though Haruhi had planed on walking away after saying thanks, she found herself sticking around for the other girl’s compliments. “You think so?” She grinned. “I’ve had them for like forever.” They were just part of her daily attire, similar to her school uniform and black knee socks.

Passing Out Fliers // Closed RP

menagerieofmuses:

"Um… then I should probably get home before my parents start wondering where I am… " Madoka said quietly, draining the last of her milkshake. Then she perked her head up, back to her usual cheerful self as she smiled at Haruhi.

image

"It was a lot of fun talking to you, Haruhi-san! I hope we can do it again sometime, I love making new friends!" the pinkette said excitedly, clasping her hands together in earnest.

With that, Madoka started to leave - but at the last second, she suddenly turned around and rushed back to Haruhi, reaching into her schoolbag, Madoka pulled out her cell-phone. “Hey! Do you want my phone number? Then you can call me if you have any other questions about Magical Girls or anything!”

"Of course." The time they spent today was very nice and worth while. Learning about magical girls and just getting to know Madoka a bit was way better than sitting at home, doing homework, even though that homework wasn’t going to do itself.

She only wished that the rest of the brigade could have sat in and listened to Madoka’s explanation about magical girls and witches.

"Sure." Haruhi hadn’t thought to try to keep touch with the younger girl herself, and was glad that she had brought it up. "I’ll give you mine, too, so that if you come up with something interesting to tell me, you can call me.” With that, Haruhi brought out her plain white cell phone, as well.
